Raquel's Pickleball Set brings a paddle and ball to your 18-inch doll's world. Here's what's in the box, how it fits into play, and answers to common questions.
Quick answer
Raquel's Pickleball Set is a two-piece accessory collection: a pickleball paddle and a ball sized for 18-inch dolls. It's part of the Girl of the Year 2026 line and works best as a storytelling prop for active, sporty play rather than a stand-alone game.
Why this set is a storytelling prop, not a full game
The set includes only the paddle and ball, so it doesn't come with a net, court markers, or a second paddle. That's a deliberate limitation: it keeps the price low and lets the pieces slot into whatever scene your doll is already playing. If you want a full pickleball match setup, you'll need to build that from other props or household items.
Because the paddle and ball are designed for 18-inch dolls, they're sized to look right in a doll's hand rather than to be swung by a child. The play value comes from posing, imagining the rally, and mixing the set with Raquel's other outfits and accessories.
How it fits with the rest of Raquel's collection
This set coordinates with other Raquel outfits and accessories from the Girl of the Year 2026 line, so it's easy to build a practice session, a tournament day, or a post-game scene. If your doll already has Raquel's Beach Dress or other sporty looks, the paddle and ball can extend those stories without requiring a whole new wardrobe.
One trade-off: the set is an accessory add-on, not a starter kit. If you're buying for a child who is new to American Girl dolls, the doll and a basic outfit matter more than the pickleball pieces.
Common questions about Raquel's Pickleball Set
- What comes in the box?
- A pickleball paddle and a ball, both sized for 18-inch dolls. No net, court, or second paddle is included.
- Is it part of the Girl of the Year 2026 collection?
- Yes. It's part of the Girl of the Year 2026 line featuring Raquel and coordinates with other Raquel outfits and accessories.
- Can my child actually play pickleball with it?
- The pieces are doll-sized props, not a child-sized game. Kids can use them to pose their doll and invent rallies, but they aren't meant for real swinging or hitting. Set expectations before gifting: this is a storytelling accessory, not sports equipment.
- What ages is it best for?
- It suits kids who already enjoy doll play and like sports-themed stories. Because it's a small accessory set, it's less useful as a first doll purchase and more of a add-on for an existing collection.
- How do I store the small pieces?
- Keep the paddle and ball in a small zip pouch or a dedicated accessory bin so they don't get lost among larger playsets. The ball is the easiest piece to misplace. Label a storage spot so the set stays complete between play sessions.
